Horse Care Supplies

Reviews

The horse used for testing was a well-maintained 17-year-old light grey with a long mane.

On the first day, the horse had spent the day outdoors and was literally covered in mud. After being brushed off and washed with Ivory liquid, StubbenCare was applied while the coat was still wet. The horse was towel-dried and covered with a cooler until dry.

The product had a remarkable effect on the coat and mane and tail: they were soft, lustrous, silvery and the mane and tail seemed to have considerably more volume.

During the following week, the horse was turned out, rolled, and was brushed and exercised every day. Stubben Care was only used on the dry mane and tail. The dirt was easier to remove and the mane and tail were easier to brush out. For touch-ups on stains, other products might be more effective.

The product smells very good (a tea scent), leaves no oily or sticky finish and keeps the hair soft and light. However, given the cost, I would recommend it for occasional or use before competitions.

How does it look?
Chloe:"(The light colour) is great to find when the horse takes it off ."
How does it fit?
Chloe:"Great fit! Close to the horse's face while leaving the eyes clear."
How well did it function?
Chloe:"My escape artist wasn't able to take it off, so to me this is a success. I love all the felted velcro. Makes it soft for the horse and easy to manipulate."
What didn't you like?
Chloe:"The meshing is very thick. I'm not sure i would ride with it as the horse's vision is obstructed."(n.b. These masks are not intended for riding)
Would you recommend it?
Chloe:"Definitely! Great robust product that will last more than one season."
Is the price reasonable?
Chloe:"Mid-range price for a well-made product."
Thank you Chloe!
